Detox Time - Join In
At the beginning of the year I embarked on a body detox trying to cut out the rubbish and exercise a bit more (never been a gym bunny or healthy eater). It was a challenge in itself, stripping out any processed food or pretty much anything with sugar and I learnt a lot about what we really should be eating. The exercise bit wasn't so bad as it embraced the HIT (High Intensity Training) so you could go crazy for 30 minutes a day in the comfort of your own home (no gym membership in sight).
So far I'm 2lbs from losing 2 stone in a year which you may think as slow progress but so far I've been able to maintain it am now looking to get back to really losing some more.
I am going back to basics again and even growing my own vegetables (saves a bit on shopping bills) but I am also trying a 30 day challenge, just something everyone else has been doing (found on the Internet) but also mixing it with a great app i found on my Ipad, its called Sworkit. This has a variety of exercises and training sessions which incorporate HIT.
I'm going to start this all on Monday as I think its a great day to start but I also have some cheesecake in the fridge that needs eating this weekend (ha ha) but in all seriousness I will be starting and if any readers want to join in I'll be updating every Sunday on my progress so please comment with your results.
I can't wait to start seeing the results and feeling a whole lot better in myself, check out the 30 day challenge below and join in if you want.

The Boom - The Independents
This year has seen a fabulous boom in Independent Clothing. Social Media has a positive impact on the voice of these collections and helping get them into the hands of the consumer.
No one piece is the same with many brands hand-making or printing their own products, you are sure to get an individual piece.
.JPG)
'The Independents' have a great edge on your normal high street apparel combining unique appeal with great customer service. The variety has been growing ten fold since last year with designers and fashion lovers putting their spin on T-shirts, Beanies, Hoodies and much more besides.
One brand which focusses on unique and individual style is Cozed Clothing, the brand was established this year and already has a huge following. I first found this fab apparel on Twitter and along with the other 11.5k followers appreciate its unique style. Each piece is handmade and makes a great addition to any wardrobe and definitely creates a statement. Check out their products on www.cozed.co.uk
The independent apparel market is growing and its making unique style accessible at a fraction of the cost from most high-street generic designs.
Individuals can express themselves and help contribute to the creators talents and pockets instead of the large business money makers.
I personally hope this market blossoms as I have seen some inventive designs and have been encouraged by some young but intelligent business minds.
Check out 'The Independents' as they are more accessible than you think.

Spring/Summer 2013 Trends - Part 3
The last part in my mini trend analysis focuses on Colours and Prints, this season features the likes of prints including Brushstroke effect, Birds and Camo and colours including Crisp White and Beautiful Orange.
A combination of art and style make up the Brushstroke print, soft textures and calming colours bring out the creative fashionista among us, match this with a block colour or simple tailoring and this makes one eye catching outfit.
Another colour featuring heavily on the catwalk is Orange and all hues of this vibrant shade. This looks fabulous on our summer tanned skin and oozes confidence as the wearer dares to be bold in a summer favourite.
That's the end of my little trilogy of trend, keep checking back for more news and gossip on this years hot trends!

Camo print always reminds me of my childhood and having the cute little shorts or camo cargo pants being all the rage. This season sees a grown feel to the print with lovely colour and pattern mixes. Contrasting statements have hit the catwalks and this print is by no means only for boys!
A staple for many working women is the crisp white shirt. Tailored, fitted, floaty or sheer this shirt means business. Often left last in the fashion stakes, this underestimated piece can make an interesting style staple.

Spring/Summer 2013 - Trends Part 2
As part of the Spring/Summer 2013 trends, part 2 sees the staple items take lead. The catwalks were brimming with pieces including:
- Luxe/Sporty Chic wear
- Iconic Crop Tops
- Gorgeous and Classy Swimwear
This year's cutesy Pinafore oozes girly, feminine and playful appeal. There have been many variations on this trend from colourful and bold to full on leather chic. A perfect summer outfit for all occasions, lets just hope we get some nice weather to appreciate this lovely trend.
Luxe Sportswear has taken a sleeker stance this season, no longer does doing casual have to mean you look like a tomboy. This year feminine lines and cuts mean gym to nightlife is a walk in the park.
A staple item for any fashionistas wardrobe is the Crop Top. Spring/Summer has seen the mid drifts of many women and girlie's strutting this uber cool trend. Some and not others pulling it off (not a statement from myself I might add) but I say if your comfortable and confident wearing something then go for it girl!
Wow, this year has seen an enormous amount of choice when it comes to our staple for the beach - Swimwear. The catwalks are hot with various designs and styles, there is truly something for everyone. For ladies that like to be a little more reserved we have been blessed with the gorgeous cuts of the 50's coming back into the mix and for the little more adventurous, sexy cutaways are a must.
This Summer has accessible trends for everybody so check back tomorrow for Part 3 which features Prints and Colours to watch out for.

Spring/Summer 2013 - Trends Part 1
This season has seen a variety of emerging trends which include different eras or icons, staple items and prints, patterns, textures or colours.
Part One of the season focuses on the trends on a broad scale which include:
- Metallic
- Sheer
- Boho
- Clear Plastic
- 60's Fashion
- Monochrome
Metallics do not have to follow your stereotypical space age look, this seasons look has a new feel and new interpretation from elegant brocades to beautiful pastels, a perfect look for sophisticated work wear or cocktails on Saturday night.
The Sheer look embraces the brave among us this season with a 'Dare to Bare' look. It can be achieved from the subtle to the outright exhibitionist and looks fabulous from day to evening wear.
The Revived Boho look has been around for some time but this season gives it a fresh awakening. Most have the staple items from flowing Maxi's, gorgeous floppy hats and floral head garlands (seen at this years Isle of Wight Festival very recently). This trend sees itself nicely into the summer months embracing our festival spirit.
The 60's was an iconic era with bold prints, bright colours and very short hems. This season is no different, it embraces ultra femininity and revived the youthful feel of the era.
The Monochrome trend is one of my favourites, this fits perfectly with the 60's look and makes a sexy and chic style incorporating bold prints.
Trends are always referred to as going full circle and some of the above are no exception. Modern designers are giving these a new lease of life and producing some favourites perfect for our Spring/Summer wardrobes.
Part 2 follows tomorrow featuring this seasons staple items................

Now the trend that is Clear Plastic is very unique, unless you have the fabulous bodies featured in Robin Thicke's new music video this trend can be a little hard to pull off. Long gone are your spotty rain mac's its time to try the lightweight and open feel of clear perspex.

Get Shorty
The trend that's been around for ages and we can't get enough of - The Little Denim shorts. A fav among A-Listers and us mere mortals alike. They are getting more inventive as the trend moves on, from your basic denim to your customised Levi - everybody knows they are hot right now!
They are perfect for a lazy beach look, dressing up for out on the town and even perfect in winter with some fabulous patterned tights.
This trend I feel will be around for some time and be ever evolving. So don't put them away at the end of summer, these classics will last all year round!

New Clothing Line
I love fashion and have dabbled in Styling, Modelling and owning a vintage boutique for a while now but I have decided to put pen to paper (well graphics to fabrics) and launch my own clothing brand based in sunny North Devon. It will be an intimate range with selected designs being available, touching on an Alternative/Urban/Street/Surf feel which is the genre I love - laid back style for a hectic life.
.JPG)
It's a while off launch at the minute but will be hoping to get it out there for Autumn/Winter 2013, i'm still toiling with the name at the minute - two names jumped out at me at first and I still can't decide! Once the name is sorted I'll release it first on my blog to get the brand of to a flying start.
I'm sooo excited and have lots of ideas rolling around my head, i've got a sample coming this week to get a feel for style and quality. Hopefully next year i'll be at some festivals showcasing how well I'm getting on. Lots of exciting things to come so keep your eyes peeled.......

Inked Girl
I have many other tattoos which all mean a great deal to me and times in my life and I love sharing them with anyone who wants to appreciate it.
Take a look at a few of my pieces and I have lots more to add to them.....
Fashionable Events
There is nothing more I love than a fabulous fashion show or pop up event and of course it's even better when it's for a good cause. My area is blooming at present with a fashion forward selection of boutiques and independents all trying to make their mark on the high street and I love to support that. There is also an excellent selection of pop up events that make great days out all in aid of great local charities.
One event that is happening next week is The Freedom Day Centre's Fashion show showcasing great nearly new and vintage finds that you can buy, there will be lots of goodies on the evening to buy and browse and everything raised goes back into the charity, so grab a ticket if you are in the area and support this fab event.

I will be attending as many fashion related events as possible this year to give you the scoop on local and national creatives and trends and who to keep your eyes on......
Keep up to date with news on my twitter @elsiedelilah
Work related, I am collaborating with some talented photographers in the coming months and will have beautiful photos to add to my portfolio. It's an exciting time for fashion and I hope you will join me on the ride..........
