OOTD - Spring Bling

Well it was the first day of spring a couple of days ago but it sure didn't feel like it where I live.  Also that same day whilst hunting through some sale rails I came across a fabulous cape/poncho, which is perfect to just throw on without the need for a coat unless its raining of course.  It was the last one in the sale and with its bling studded panel on each side it adds a little sparkle to any outfit and I had the perfect excuse to buy it with this chilly weather.

Today I teamed this bargain (£7) with some basic leggings and long sleeve oversized tee as the cape itself draws enough attention on its own.  It is perfect for the transition from the colder weather and is perfect to compliment a any outfit.  Check out my F&F bargain - Spring Bling OOTD.

Fashionable Phone Covers with Tucano

Do you remember getting your first mobile phone, mine was a Nokia and it was all the rage to get the funkiest cover, not to protect the phone but to show off your personality!  Times have changed but our need to inject a little variety and individuality into the things we love hasn't.  Most of us love our phones and can't live without them, sad I know and giving them a little personality has never been so easy.

So when I was introduced to a fab Italian brand of phone cover, I instantly thought of style as Italy is known for it.  I had a look at the Tucano's new Iphone cover - Delikatessen range and had a pick of some great designs to dress up my boring black Iphone.  As I have a love of music I decided on the HiFi speaker case as it reminds me of the old huge stereos we had as a kid but it was a toss up between that and the yummy looking sweetie case.

These cases are made from strong polycarbonate material which is super light too and protects effectively against the odd bumps and knocks here and there and the design is slightly embossed which gives it a stand out look.  Tucano phone cases can be found in several stores in the UK and they ship internationally too.  Take a look at my pictures below and check out their range at www.tucano.com

OOTD - Statement Slogans

Todays post features my love of slogan tees, they are so easy to wear and are a big trend for SS14.  My YO tee is courtesy of Primark and I have a few colours with other slogans.  I have been taking full advantage of the sunshine although it is a little chilly but braving wearing my gladiator sandals to free my feet from boots which I have been wearing all winter.

My jeans are a supermarket find and are super comfortable, perfect for my day of lunching with hubby and seeing some friends.  I love wearing tees as they are another excuse to show off my tattooed sleeve.
Tomorrow I am also starting a new healthy eating regime after lots of inspiration from foodie blogs, I can't believe many different recipes I've found and am eager to try out, it's all in a bid to be fitter before I turn 30, yes 3-0 (boo) at the end of the year!  Wish me luck!

Pretty in Polka #Retrostylecomp

Vintage clothing and style is one of my favourite things about fashion, I actually used to sell vintage clothing before moving over into the world of writing and styling.  I loved the thrill of finding new and unusual trinkets and pieces at fairs, car boot sales and charity shops.  Nowadays vintage is everywhere and you don’t have to hunt high and low to find unique and stylish items.  So when I heard about Beyond Retro’s #retrostylecomp I just had to enter my favourite items in a hope to win some of their fabulous vintage goodies. 

The amazing items I have chosen to share my vintage style are a mixture of present Spring/Summer 14 trends mixed with a retro pretty spring picnic look.  My favourite pattern is polka dot and this dress fits my love of polka perfectly (I even have a polka dot bow tattoo).  Tan and chocolate browns match brilliantly with this bright red dress and give a hint of 'At the Races' sophistication and it's also a cute feminine look, perfect for summer parties.

I picked items that would flatter my body shape and personal style and I would wear this outfit for many occasions including summer soirees and festival fun.  I love the freedom vintage clothing gives you in styling a unique outfit with items that no-one else has.  It’s also great to mix vintage pieces with present trends to create a fabulous statement style.

Spring Break

The sun has been shining all weekend and I thought what a perfect opportunity to show everyone the beautiful area I live in.  I'm about 15 minutes from the beach and when the sun is out it makes living here one of the most beautiful places in the UK (well I think so anyway).  The North Devon coastlines are stunning and picturesque and make a beautiful backdrop for lovely pictures.

This post is slightly different from my normal fashion posts but I thought I'd throw in a little lifestyle taster as the weather was so nice.  It was warmer than expected so I was a little over dressed for the beach but I wore my favourite gladiator sandals by Love Label which were my summer staple last year. So here it is, my lovely morning on the beach:

OOTD - Shades of Blue

Today felt like the first day of spring, gorgeous warm sunshine even if a little windy.  I wanted to get a shot of my OOTD outside for the first time in ages and I had a little help from my cute collie Maddie.
I opted for a smart casual look today with a royal blue blazer that was a pressie for Xmas (i've only just taken the ticket off it) and my trusty dark denim skinnies.  My navy sheer sleeveless print shirt looked perfect underneath for a contrast to the bold colours.

Tomorrow I'm going to be posting something a little different, mixing it up with a bit of a lifestyle post as forecast is sun, sun, sun!  Perfect for the beach and some snaps of my lovely local area.

Citrus Spring Style

After having a walk around the highstreet, I couldn't help but notice all the bright citrus colours in many of the highstreet fashion stores.  I love these colours, bright yellows, lime greens and they all look fabulous with navy.  There are several shades of citrus colours and I've picked out a few looks that will get you in the citrus spring mood.

This is an amazing colour to brighten up your wardrobe and create an instant variation in your outfits.  Forget spring pastels, this SS14 is all about vibrant, bold shades which create a statement look. 

River Island had some of my favourite pieces and they have some lovely summer sandals, I really wanted to buy some but is it too early??  I'll think of an excuse to buy some, a shoes of the day post perhaps!

OOTD - Monochrome Midi

Another quick post today with my OOTD, I decided on a touch of Spring/Summer monochrome with a splash of neon colouring for contrast.  My dress from South is a black and white stripe midi and to keep warm I teamed with a basic long sleeve tee to avoid having to wear a cardigan again, I do love cardi's but I seem to be living in them at the minute.

Bristol Bloggers Meet

On Sunday I went to my second bloggers meet, this time in Bristol.  It was a bit of a trek for me this time around due to public transport but I got there in plenty of time and was nice to actually have a wander around the city centre before going to the venue.

The #BrizBlogMeet was hosted by the lovely Emily Stoker of Pretty Please and her partner Phil McCormick and took place in Revolution Bristol.  As normal I was a little nervous meeting everyone but there were also some familiar faces from the first event I went to in Exeter including Amy from Amy Loves, Carly from Life from the Tub and Jodie from A La Jode, so the nerves soon disappeared.

It was a great chance to catch up with the girlies and get to know about lots of new bloggers and their fabulous blogs.  It was a lovely venue and we all enjoyed some yummy food and delicious cocktails, I was careful not to have too many this time!!

The goodie bags were amazing and contained lots of fabulous products to try out including DermaV10 skincare, Sweet Cecily's Natural skincare and Hairy Jayne haircare.  I had some chocolate scent body butter and chocolate scent lip balm which both smell good enough to eat.
