OOTD - Unconnected & Double Denim

Just a short and sweet OOTD post but today I wore this pretty simple outfit to work but received lots of lovely compliments about it and my newly coloured hair (camera light doesn't show it very well but its dark cherry).  I thought'd I share it with everyone and show off my Unconnected Clothing Tee, a bargain in their recent sale!

Amazing Accessories by Store2Love

I love accessories, I love the way such a small fashion item can play such a huge role in making an outfit really stand out.  I am forever on the look out for new designers, quirky pieces and anything affordable.  It’s always fab to have different types of accessories to match styles and have a few statement investment pieces which are versatile and look amazing on special occasions.

So when I find something great of course as normal I love to share with everyone.  Very recently I was introduced to an amazing online accessory boutique Store2Love that does everything from earrings and necklaces to tiaras and hair accessories.  Everything is fabulously priced and there is such a massive selection to choose from.  Styles are inspired and loved by celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Amy Childs and Amanda Holden and there is something for everyone and any occasion.

I have been lucky enough to add to my growing collection and try out some Store2Love Sparkly Straight Silver Earrings, these earrings are subtle bling which suits a variety of looks and they are light and delicate so are not an overpowering feature.  These particular earrings are an all over shiny silver colour and due to the texture of the dangly part create a subtle twinkling effect in the light.  Great with hair up or hair down.

Sparkly Dangle Silver Straight Earrings £7.79

Check out these other pieces which I took a shine too, there so many choices I couldn't list them all!
Delivery is free too so you don't have to worry about the increased postage cost if you buy several items.

Glittery Geometric Aztec Style Necklace Turquoise £4.99

Set of Black Bangles £8.99

Styles are always being added and their range is constantly growing and changing so keep up to date with the latest trends.  Be sure to check out Store2Love's Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest and keep posted with everything as it happens and bag your accessory bargains!

Spring/Summer 2014 Trends

It's a little hard to think that soon we'll looking at buying our Spring/Summer essentials and if you're like me hoping to book your holidays so you have some time out to look forward to.  Spring/Summer trends are already making an appearance on the highstreet and although it may feel a little to early to buy pretty dresses and lighter fabrics, there are a few transition trends which are versatile for any season.

2014 for me is all about individuality, although trends play a major part in the new seasons shows and presentations, individual style and personality is playing a big role in moulding the fashion industry.  Bloggers are big hitters in showing that style doesn't have to follow the rules and play it safe, many fashionistas have a unique sense of style confidence and it's great to see so many different and varied looks.

It's always great to see what designers are bringing us each season and also how it is filtered to us mere mortals through to the highstreet, so here are a few of my favourite key trends for Spring/Summer 2014 to feast your eyes on:

Monochrome

Oliver Bonas

Lace

Slogan/Statement Tops
ss14, graphic tshirt, slogan
La Redoute

Florals

Matalan

Trends are so mix and match these days and it's fab that styles and looks keep coming full circle so your wardrobe staples become versatile must have items all year round.  I can't wait to get to London in February for the Plus Size London Fashion weekend press day and capture some fabulous street style too as London Fashion Week gets started.

I would love to know your favourite Spring/Summer trends this year and whether you agree 2014 is the year of individual style?

OOTD - Aztec Cardigan

It was so cold today but lovely and sunny so today's outfit had to keep me cosy but nice enough for shopping and a bite to eat with family.  I have an abundance of cardigans and I love bright colours and patterns, the bolder the better.  As it was pretty chilly, I decided on a longer cardi by Vila to double up as a coat to keep nice and warm whilst out and about.

My shirt is a Celine inspired chain print style with gold tone buttons from River Island and teamed with my basic leggings and over the knee boots by New Look keep this look casual but warm enough for a wander around town in the winter sunshine.

So here is my outfit of the day:

Style Crush - Ellie Goulding

One of my favourite singer/songwriter's is the gorgeous Ellie Goulding, not only is her music my cup of tea, she also has a fabulous style.  Ellie looks amazing in casual quirky styles and is stunning on the red carpet with glamourous understated looks.  I love the way Ellie's style doesn't look overdone and always creates a look that perfectly fits her personality.

Take a look at some of Ellie Goulding's style chic from 2013 and get some inspiration for independent, quirky and confident looks, perfect for individual fashionistas.

Unconnected Clothing - 6 months on.....

I featured an upcoming independent clothing brand back in July and have the privilege in bringing you a fabulous follow up on how this brand are making their mark in the independent sector and how they are serving up something a little different to the fashion table.

Check out the previous feature here: Special Feature - Unconnected Clothing

Dan from Unconnected contacted me to let me know how well the brand is doing and as my support for independents continues to grow, I thought it would be perfect to do a little interview and let my readers know the progress of such a young versatile brand.

Dan, Unconnected has been going from strength to strength in the past year, what's the secret to your success?

Thank you Tasha, it's great to feel that our progression is been noticed. The secret to any success I feel is hard work and determination. I set a goal of starting up the brand and getting to a respectable and noticeable standard within the first year and I feel we have achieved that. Like I said hard work is the key to success, spending long days, and working hard to understand the market we are in.

I see you have some new products, tell us about the new ranges?

We have dramatically expanded our product range! We are no longer just a tshirt brand, we are a fully fledged clothing brand now offering Tshirts, Sweatshirts, Hoddies and Beanies. Our AW13 range is out now which includes a lot of these new items, and we are about to release some more products for the New Year.

Are you collaborating with any other brands in the new range?

We have done a collaboration with another independent clothing brand called Undone. We both got in contact with each other about the possibility of working together on a tshirt. Several messages went back and forth, several designs by myself were put into the mix to see if we could work something out which would look good. In the end we went for a simple tshirt adopting aspects from both our logo's, which worked really well and it sold brilliantly.

Have you had any memorable successes in the past year you want to shout about?

Its been a bit of a mental time from starting up the brand. We have done things not many brands have achieved in their first year. We are in talks with 3 stores about been stocked, 2 in the UK and 1 in Australia. We have also worked with a night club in Nottingham and held a joint event. We are now in the process of starting a brand new adventure which will be a very big deal for us, I can't disclose any details yet but it's going to be big!!

What do you hope for the future of Unconnected?

I'll keep it short and sweet, we want to succeed in developing the brand and challenging the high-street to do better!

Check out some of my favourites from the brand and take a peek at lots more on their website.  I am hoping to do a product review very soon too!

I'll be keeping tabs on this developing brand and can't wait for their big news coming very soon.  You can keep up to date on all their new products, news and offers at www.unconnectedclothing.co.uk  and via their social media - Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  Just want to say a big thanks to Dan again for the interview, it's always a pleasure to support upcoming independents.
